Virginia Parrish

Virginia Parrish of Tifton, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022.  She was 84.                   

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Church Cemetery, Jack, Alabama with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Homestead Hospice, 110 E. 10th St. Suite A, Tifton, Georgia  31794, or Pleasant Ridge Church, 9077 County Road 239, Jack, Alabama, 36346.

Virginia was born August 19, 1937, to the late Bunk and Bessie Smith Goodson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Parrish, in 2020, and they were married for 67 years at the time of his death.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Keith Parrish, in 2020; sister, Louise Goodson Cole; and brothers, Buford Goodson, Paul Goodson, and Jerome Goodson.  She lived most of her life in Nocatee, Florida with her husband, J.L.  She worked and retired from the State of Florida at G. Pierce Wood Hospital after 40 years, retiring on August 21, 1998.

Survivors include her son, Carey Parrish (Carla), of Alapaha, Georgia; daughter in law, Debbie Parrish, of High Point, North Carolina; grandchildren, Sarah Parrish, Karen Parrish Somday (Ken), Matthew Parrish (Michaelanne), Jacob Parrish, Jason Parrish (Brittany), and Brian Parrish; and six great-grandchildren.
