Mary Catherine "Kathie" (Blankenship) Tallas

Mary Catherine "Kathie" Blankenship Tallas gained her celestial wings on March 9, 2023. She was a devoted military wife and a doting mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Kathie was born on April 9, 1945, in Mineral Wells, TX, and traveled the world as a Navy brat. She loved flowers, birds, her fur babies, her family and most of all, she loved life.

She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Blankenship, her sisters Susan Whetstone and Rise Imbody, her parents Wayne and Mary Blankenship and her only daughter Tami Lynn Burrows.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years John, her sons Steven and John Jr., her granddaughter Amy Tallas, grandsons Matthew Ray (Mychaela), Brent Ray (Caroline), and great grandsons Colten Ray and John Ray. She was especially close to John’s siblings Diane Stroope (Charles), Debra Frost (Brad), Denise Minns (Larry), Elizabeth Law (Richard), Tammie Tallas, Kristi Hatley and Michael Tallas (Tammy Jo). She also has numerous nieces and nephews that were also loved by her.

Kathie did not want a memorial service but she gently imprinted the minds of everyone she met. She will be cremated and her ashes spread among her beloved flowers.
