Joyce (James) Roberts

Joyce J. Roberts of Chancellor passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021. She was 84.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Sorrells Funeral Home of Enterprise with Reverend John McCrummen officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.  Face masks and social distancing will be required to attend these events.  The funeral service will be streaming live at 2:00 p.m. on the Facebook page of Sorrells Funeral Home.          

Joyce was born in Coffee County, AL on February 20, 1936 to the late Wilbur and Ethel James.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Roberts; brother, Richard Lee James; and one step-son. 

Mom wasn’t surprised by her departure early Sunday morning; however she was surprised that she lived for almost 85 years.  She enjoyed life to the fullest.  She was a “way maker” for a host of people both family and friends.  She loved her Lake Windsor family where she lived the past 20 years.  You didn’t forget her if you ever had the pleasure of meeting her.  We will miss her presence but she left us with good memories.  She was a believer in Jesus Christ from an early age and had an ambition to be pleasing to the Lord.        

She is survived by her children, John W. McCrummen (Becky), Judy Sapp (Charles), Jayne Cannady and James W. McCrummen (Donna); sister, Frances Bradshaw (Mickey); sister-in-law, Bonnie James; six step-children; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
