James Elmer Allen

James “ Elmer” Allen passed away at 2:55 PM Sunday, April 9, 2023 at his home in Enterprise Alabama at the age of 81.

A  memorial will be held on Saturday April21, 2023 at Amite Baptist Church located at 7100 Amite Church Rd, Denham Springs, LA 70706. The service will start at 1PM. 

 Mr. Allen was born May 8, 1941 and  was a native of Denham Springs, Louisiana.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Linda Diane (Sims) and daughter Sonia “Michelle” Allen, his parents, George Mixon Allen and Ola Rosine Sullivan, his siblings, Walter, Allen, Murray Allen, Leslie Allen, John Allen, Pearl Myers, Earlene Oneal, Rena Allen and Maybell Allen.

He is survived by his daughter, Christy Allen Winn (David); foster son, Knovie Strickland; grandchildren: Cody Wascom (Desiree), Courtney Thames, Michael Wascom (Heather), Trenton Thames, Jessica Kilgore (Shawn),Jordan Winn, and Taylor Winn. Great grandchildren: Kaylie, Landon, Liam and Saylor Wascom, Kyler, Rowan, Emmalyn, Waverley and Evret Kilgore, Sonia, Wrath, and Lysander Thames; Lexis and Logan Pleasant; Rosie and Scarlet Breaux; Sisters Barbara Jean Miller, Marvelle Landry, Cecile Sims and Dian Lipscomb.
