On Thursday, December 1, 2022, Bobbie R. Belcher, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 91.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, December 5,2022 at Louisville City Cemetery in Louisville, AL with Reverend Kerry Mitchell officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at Louisville Baptist Church, beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: “Lottie Moon Christmas Offering” through Louisville Baptist Church, 1900 Main Street, Louisville, AL 36048 in Mrs. Belcher’s memory.
Mrs. Belcher was born November 29, 1931 in Louisville, AL to the late Malcolm and Ruth Hamm. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Bledsoe. On June 20, 1949 she married RC Belcher and lived in Germany, Oklahoma, and New Jersey while he served in the US Air Force for 22 years. Together they served in ministry for 41 years, raising one daughter and three granddaughters. They were married for 70 years until his death in 2019.
She was most passionate about her faith in Christ, sharing the gospel, and teaching children about Jesus. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, cooking, and investing in her great grandchildren. She was known for her kind, gentle, and compassionate spirit. She faithfully ministered to family and friends though phone calls and cards. She always remembered special occasions and birthdays.
Survivors include granddaughters: Elizabeth Mitchell (Kerry) of Enterprise, AL, Brittany Simmons of New Orleans, LA, and Tiffany Colson of Ariton, AL; great-grandchildren: Landon, Ruth Anne, Hannah, Silas, Victoria, and Eli; son-in-law, Farron Bledsoe of Louisville, AL, and several nieces and nephews.
