Virginia Lee (Beckler) Vosel

Mrs. Virginia Lee Vosel, of New Brockton, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022. She was 91. A graveside funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, April 4, 2022 in the Old Tabernacle Cemetery in New Brockton, Alabama with Reverend Steve Comer officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. Virginia was born November 13, 1930 in Lynch, Kentucky to the late William R. and Nettie Rogers Beckler. She was Valedictorian of her high school class in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania where she met her high school sweetheart in 1947 that she would soon go on to marry in 1952, LTC Donald Vosel. Virginia was a graduate of Marshall College, Huntington West Virginia, where she received a B.S. degree in Vocational Home Economics. She was also a member of Delta Sigma Epsilon Sorority, Kappa Delta Pi, Honorary Educational Fraternity, and Kappa Omicron Phi, Honorary Home Economics Fraternity. She also served as vice president of her sorority and was an honor student throughout her four years at college. Virginia was a long time member of El Bethel AOG church, where she was known for her cakes at the church bake sale; as well as teaching Sunday school for many years. Virginia also enjoyed gardening, water skiing, camping and volunteer work. In addition to her parents; one sister, Joan Rowley, two brothers-in-law, Bud Rowley, Jack Hammett all preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of over 70 years; LTC (R) Donald Vosel; children: Jeff Vosel (Sheri), Mark Vosel (Annie), LeeAnn Vosel (John Baird); one sister, Mary Beckler Hammett; grandchildren: Matt Vosel (Amy Jacobson), Katie Alexander (Davis), Stephen Vosel (Alice); four great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Tucker, Benjamin, Oliver.
