Tony Ray Watson

Tony Ray Watson, age 70, of Level Plains, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer; surrounded by his loved ones.

Tony was born on June 22, 1955, in Chancellor, Alabama, to the late Billy Ray Watson and Hillary “Billie” Watson. He spent most of his life in Chancellor before later moving to Enterprise, where he continued to build both his life and his legacy. Graduating from Enterprise High School and building a life of service.

Tony was truly one in a million - a man of many talents and an unforgettable spirit. An architect by trade and by heart, he had a remarkable gift for turning ideas into reality, able to make any dream come to life, much like a true Picasso. He also dedicated over 30 years to the home-building and construction industry, where he not only built homes, but mentored and taught countless others along the way. His craftsmanship, creativity, and generosity of knowledge left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by the love of his life, Martha Tillery; his brother, Paul Watson; his sister, Sheila Hagler; his nephews, Buddy Watson and Corey Grantham; his goddaughter, Carrie Griggs; and his best friend and business partner, Tommie Harbuck.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard Watson and Butch Watson; his sisters, Betty Grantham and Carol Beckham; his best friend, Joyce Harbuck; his goddaughter, Sherry Roberts; along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.

At this time, no formal services are planned. The family intends to hold a Celebration of Life honoring Tony at a later date, when friends and loved ones can gather to remember and celebrate a life well lived.

Tony will be remembered for his creativity, his work ethic, his willingness to teach others, and the love he shared so freely with family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the countless dreams he helped bring to life.
