Reverend Tim W. Cooper, age 82, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Tim was born on January 1, 1944, here in Alabama to the late J.C. Cooper and Helen Mayo Cooper. He spent his life as a dedicated pastor, faithfully serving the Lord and ministering to countless people throughout the years. His steadfast faith, compassionate heart, and commitment to sharing the Gospel left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Tim received the call to preach the Gospel in March 1970 and devoted more than five decades to ministry. In May 1973, he founded the Calvary Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ in Enterprise, Alabama, where he faithfully served and helped build a congregation that impacted many lives throughout the Wiregrass area. Throughout his ministry, he was known for evangelism, personal witnessing, family visitation, hospital and nursing home ministry, and sharing the message of Christ with all who would listen.

He founded Souls Harbor in Geneva County and remained devoted to his faith throughout his life. Tim cherished his family above all else and found great joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon McCoy; two sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 27 years, Merriam Wade Cooper; six children, Annette McCoy of Webb, Alabama, Rhonda Lewis (Jay) of Dothan, Alabama, Tina Caskey (Johnny) of Enterprise, Alabama, and Regina Worley (Wayne) of Cottonwood, Alabama, August Huey (Russell) of Dothan, Alabama and Van Childs of Dothan, Alabama; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Tim will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for his family, and the many lives he touched through his ministry and friendship.
