Sylvia Jean Moody

Sylvia Jean Moody of Enterprise, Alabama passed away on March 13, 2023 at the age of 67.

Sylvia was born to her parents Jessie Lee and Reedie Mae Moody on November 29, 1955 in Enterprise. Sylvia graduated from Enterprise High School in 1973. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Delaware State University in 1978. She had a long and storied career of 27 years, working for the Federal Government as a Contracting Officer. She began her Federal career at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Although she was a busy mom and career professional, she always had time for her family and friends. She was a skilled seamstress, avid RV lover, and devoted Christian whose faith held strong throughout her entire life. She instilled her professionalism and faith in her two daughters who followed in her career footsteps.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Shelby Jackson and sisters Joan Bobson and Glenda Jeters.

Sylvia will be deeply missed by her daughters, Martavia and Jessica Moody, and grandson David. Sylvia’s sisters Theresa Moody-Thomas and Carolyn Moody will cherish her memory. There will be no public viewing or service. The family has chosen to remember Sylvia’s life in private.
