Susan Elliott

Susan Maxine Strickland Elliott of Enterprise passed away on Thursday March 3, 2022, following a long term illness at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 81.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2022, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory with Reverend Mike Medley officiating.  Burial will follow at New Brockton City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.

Maxine was born April 27, 1940 to the late Renzer S. and Willie J. Nicholson Strickland.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Robert Elliott; son-in-law Robert Earl Burgess; brothers Raymond Strickland and Gene Strickland; nephew Lanny Griffin; niece Holley Strickland; and brothers-in-law Dwain Nolin and Lamar Griffin.

Survivors include her daughters Robin Burgess and Allison Jackson (Lee Watson); grandchildren Kristi Burgess, Jennifer Burgess Paramore (Clay), Jeremy Burgess (Courtney), Kathleen Burgess and Jadason Jackson; great-grandson Robert Thomas Paramore; her twin sister Willene Nolan; sister Lorene Griffin; sisters-in-law Janice Strickland and Sue Burford; and several special cousins, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her granddaughter Kathleen Burgess for being her special angel who helped take care of her through it all.
