Steven Meyers of Enterprise, Alabama, was called home on Monday, March 23rd, 2026.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 208 East Watts Street Enterprise, Alabama, with Pastor Jim Endrihs officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 AM until service time.
Born on September 12th, 1957, to the late Paul Frederick Meyers and LeOtis Meyers in Poplar Bluff, Missouri he was the youngest and toughest of four children. He is preceded in death by his sister, Monica, and brother, Tommy.
Steven is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; beloved daughter, Stephanie (Grant); and stepson, Christopher. He also leaves behind his older brother, Joey (Cindy); his nephews whom he loved to roughhouse with, Carl, Lee, and Buck; and his cherished nieces, Hayley and Makenzie. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Kowen (21), Gabby (7), Natalie (5), Ellie (3), and Luke (1) who lovingly knew him as Papa Steve.
Steve worked on Fort Rucker for many years and took on many different roles from Lifeguard to Utilities Manager. He knew all of the ins and outs of the military base and many of his coworkers became an extended family.
Steve had many interests and hobbies. As a young man, he enjoyed tennis, racquetball, and scuba diving. He loved boating and slinging any willing participant off of an inner tube. With age, he became an excellent cook, fisherman, gardener, and hot sauce connoisseur.
He loved animals and had countless dogs and cats. He was also known as Hans’ Daddy around town to his 170 pound Rottweiler.
Steve will be remembered for his infectious smile and generous soul, and we hope he inspires random acts of kindness. He was always helping others in need, whether he was pulling someone out of a ditch or secretly paying for a soldier’s meal. To honor his memory please share a random act of kindness. It would have made him smile.
