Shawn Christian “Dragon” Watson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawn Christian “Dragon” Watson, age 38, of Ariton, Alabama. Born on February 22, 1987, Shawn entered into rest far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Shawn was the beloved son of Paula K. Watson Jackson and Edward “Dragon” Robinson. From a young age, he embraced the outdoors—he loved to hunt and fish, and found peace and joy in nature. He had a deep appreciation for martial arts, old movies, and spinning vinyl records. In recent years, Shawn discovered a passion for gardening, proudly watching his fruit trees bloom and experimenting with growing the hottest peppers he could cultivate.

Above all, Shawn’s greatest joy and purpose in life was being a father. He loved his children fiercely and unconditionally. He is survived by his cherished children: Jadien Rihanna Watson, Christian D’Shawn Watson, Gabriel Coda Sanford Watson, Michael Huffstutler, Brody Huffstutler, and Gavin Eli Huffstutler.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents but is lovingly remembered by his parents, Paula and Dragon, his sister Sherri Kay Watson (William Wesley Meeks), his brother Brandon Sye Watson, and his nephew Jerry Watson Meeks. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Shawn’s spirit, strength, and devotion to his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to share in his life. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Autism Speaks at P.O. Box 37148 Boone, IA 50037-0148.
