Sara “Ann” (Gillenwater) Morgan

Sara “Ann” Morgan, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born on May 19, 1943, in Enterprise, Ann was the beloved daughter of Clifford and Gertrude Gillenwater. She was raised in the nurturing environment of First Baptist Church Enterprise, where her faith and community roots took hold. Ann’s life was a remarkable journey marked by entrepreneurship, love, and a deep commitment to her family.

Ann’s adventurous spirit led her across states and careers after graduating from Enterprise High School, founding a successful interior decorating business that thrived in both Naples, Florida, and Alabama. Her keen eye for design and unwavering dedication earned her a reputation for transforming spaces into beautiful, welcoming homes. Alongside her beloved husband of 49 years, Jerry Morgan, Ann ventured into real estate development and sales, leaving her distinctive touch in every project. Their partnership was a testament to their love and shared vision.

A protective and loving mother, Ann cherished her children and was an inspiration to her family. She was an incredible wife, a dedicated businesswoman, and a beloved friend to many. Her return to Enterprise was a heartfelt homecoming, where she found her greatest happiness surrounded by family and community.

Ann is survived by her husband, Jerry Morgan; son Jon Keith Randle (Betty); daughters Kimberly Scarborough (John) and Vickie Steinberg (Ira); and step-children Kristi Morgan and Mark Morgan (Barb). She also leaves behind her siblings Kathryn Byrd (Robert), Lillian Jenkins, Clifford Gillenwater (Carol), and Neil Gillenwater (Carina). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Madison Hajrullahu, Sarah Chapman, Benjamin Scarborough, Patrick Scarborough, William Scarborough, and her great-grandchild Nathaniel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Enterprise, with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating. Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise is directing arrangements. Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service.
