Ruth H. Morrow, age 102, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and a life well lived in the community she loved.
Ruth was born on September 19, 1923, in Enterprise, Alabama, to the late Charlie and Effie Helms. She spent her entire life in Enterprise, where she became a familiar and beloved presence throughout the years.
She worked in several boutiques and retail stores in downtown Enterprise, specializing in ladies’ clothing. Ruth had a natural eye for style and a love for helping others feel their best. She also worked for her brother-in-law, managing his convenient stores. Outside of work, she found great joy in tending to her yard, where she spent many peaceful hours.
Ruth also enjoyed working at the Coffee Drive-In Theater, located between Enterprise and New Brockton, where she sold tickets and greeted guests with a warm smile. She was a devoted Auburn fan and loved attending football games. Even in her later years, she remained passionate about her Tigers, attending her final game, Auburn vs Alabama, at the age of 100, the game went into overtime and of course she stayed until the very end.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Enterprise, where her life reflected her deep and abiding faith.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas E. Morrow; her sister, Bernice Grimes; and her brother-in-law, John Grimes.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Morrow; her sister-in-law, Kathy Morrow; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Cindy Woodall, Tim Woodall, Jerry Wise, Rhonda Eubanks (J.R.), Joe Morrow, Donna Croley (Jud), and Kevin Davis (Brett).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Reverend Sunny Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Ruth will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for her community, and the many lives she touched over her remarkable 102 years.
