Russell Lane Kennedy

Russell Lane Kennedy, known as Russ to his family and friends, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 69.

Russ was born on January 5, 1955 and throughout his life, Russ touched the hearts of many with his mechanical expertise and leadership qualities as a journeyman machinist. More than his professional achievements, Russ will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Those who knew him best often described him as the kindest man they ever knew with an unmatched willingness to help those around him.

Russ is preceded in death by his son, Randy Kennedy, his father Glenn Wise, mother Lavonne Klugh, and his brother, Randy Kennedy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Linda Kennedy, and his children: Melissa Kennedy and her husband Randy, Sarah Olivas and her husband Erik, Kate Cripe and her husband Mike, and Matt Gomez and his wife Cheryl. Russ is also survived by his brothers, Rick Kennedy and his wife Judy, and Ron Kennedy and his wife Kellie. He is also survived by his sisters, Leslie Hough and her husband Mike, and Denise Grode and her husband Bruce. Additionally, Russ leaves behind nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy and pride throughout his life. Russ is also survived by numerous additional family, friends, and co-workers that he loved.

In accordance with his wishes, Russ will be memorialized through cremation, with a memorial to be held at the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home on the 24th of August 2024 at 11AM to celebrate his life, legacy, and the love he shared with all those who were fortunate enough to know him. The family will receive friend from 10:30AM until service time. The family will be gathering at the residence of Matthew Gomez following the service.

Russ' memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
