Rose A. Truchon

Mrs. Rose A. Truchon of Chancellor, Alabama, passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 93 surrounded by her family.

A funeral mass will be held at­ 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Enterprise, Alabama, with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until service time.

Rose was born in Germany on February 20, 1932, to the late Johann and Rosalie Anfang. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, the love of her life, Mike Truchon, and her brother, Hans Peter Anfang.

She is survived by her children, David Truchon of Chancellor, Tina Sawls (Thomas) of Ozark, and Michele Phillips of Clayhatchee; two grandchildren, Kristina Simmons and Brad Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Annabelle and Frank Simmons; sister-in-law, Karen Anfang; nephews, Marcus Anfang (Berget) and Christian Anfang (Ilona); great-newphews, Leon and Andreas Anfang; and great-niece, Angelica Anfang.

Rose was a vibrant, quick-witted lady who always spoke the truth. A devoted homemaker, she loved her family more than anything. Rose enjoyed the outdoors, and she spent countless hours in her flower garden or in her kitchen cooking delicious German food and German Christmas cookies. In her free time she loved to play Bridge with her friends (the Golden Girls), and travel.
