Roger Leon Miller of Ozark, Alabama passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Dothan, Alabama. He was 79.
Memorialization will be by cremation with a memorial service held at a later date.
Roger was born August 8, 1944 in Greenfield Massachusetts to the late Theodore and Thelma French Miller. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Frances Benoit, Georgiana Dingman (Al); two brothers, Theodore Miller, Jr.(Francis), John Miller all preceded him in death. He was a hard worker who enjoyed racing cars, Nascar and baseball. Roger served his community leading the little league baseball program and served for many years as fire chief. He also served his country in the United States Army. One achievement that Roger considered a high accomplishment was being a part of President John F. Kennedy’s color guard during a presidential visit to Germany.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shirley LaClair Miller; three children: Roger Miller Jr. (Ming-Chueh), Brian Miller (Bonnie), Holli Miller; siblings, Norman Miller (Paula), Diane Nadeau (Dennis), Julie Seymour (Dan), sister-in-law Barbara Miller; seven grandchildren: Brittanie Miller, Fu-Chiung Miller (Amberlin), Yu-Sing Miller (Marco Castillo), Logun Miller, Brie Miller, Sofia Miller, Scarlett Miller.
