Robert Alan Seamans

Mr. Robert Alan Seamans of Opp, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery surrounded by his family. He was 73 years old.

Memorialization will be by cremation with burial in New York at a later date.

Robert was born in Auburn, New York, on October 23, 1952, to the late Charles and Dorothy Seamans. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Nora Hyde Seamans; son, Jason Hyde; sister, Jan Cooper of Port Byron, New York; brother, James Seamans of Cayuga, New York; niece, Carolyn Hedges; nephew, Billy Cooper; and best friend, Donna Baldwin.

Robert was a devoted family man, and he loved his family dearly. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant before retiring at Fort Drum, New York. Robert was an avid sports fan, and he especially enjoyed watching NASCAR and Giants football.

Survivors include his three daughters, Karen White of Opp, Alabama, Kelly Douglas (Erik) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kari Smith of Colorado; brother, Chuck Seamans of Elk City, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Harley Seamans, Preston White, Ashleigh White, Anthony Countryman, Lacy Countryman, Ayden Scudder, Ayla Scudder, Julia Hyde, Landon Hyde, and Ian Hyde; and four great-grandchildren, Jax White, Maelynn McCord, Kadence McCord, Saylor Feezer, and Ezekial; and best friend, Kelly Baldwin.
