Robert “Rob” Earl Steedley

Robert “Rob” Earl Steedley, age 61, of Daleville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on June 3, 2025. Born on June 22, 1963, in Huntington, New York, Rob lived a life full of heart, humor, and hard work.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Rob was affectionately known as a “gentle giant” standing 6 feet 6 inches tall. He had a presence that could fill a room, yet he carried himself with warmth, kindness, and humility. Whether cracking a joke, dancing with unmatched rhythm, or lending a helping hand, Rob left an impression on everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Etha J. Calvert.

Rob is survived by his devoted fiancée, Donella Carter; his beloved daughter, Monique Jordan (Angela); Latris Carter (Cody Thomas); Leahe Carter (Ernest Williams); James Tanner, Jr; and Teljrin Tanner. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Paige, along with a host of extended family and friends who will dearly miss his laughter, his dancing, and his big-hearted spirit.

Rob’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the music he danced to, and the love he gave so freely.
