Richard Hood

Richard Hood of Dothan passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020.  He was 53.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Reverend James Roberts, Reverend Jason Roberts and Reverend Desmond Flowers officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.  Masks and social distancing will be required to attend these events.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in Richard’s memory to UAB Children’s Hospital or The Humane Society of Dothan.

Richard was born May 21, 1967 in Ferriday, LA.  He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hood; mother and step-father, Mary and Hulan Watson; mother-in-law, Annie Mae Warren; sister-in-law, Brenda Hood; nieces, Chelsea Hood and Cayden Jones; and step-sister, Kay Strickland.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia Hood; children, Amber Markwell (Richard) of Enterprise, AL, Wayne Hood of Defuniak Springs, FL and Marlana Bartlett (Shelton) of Baker, FL; brothers, Robert Hood of Foley, AL and Chuck Hood of Enterprise, AL; sister, Mary Archie Parker of Enterprise, AL; grandchildren, Hayleigh Markwell, Preston Markwell, Mila Hood, Easton Griffin and Lawson Todd Bartlett; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
