Ret. CW4 Gary Almon White of Enterprise passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022. He was 75.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church in Enterprise with Reverend Chris Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.

Gary was born June 30, 1946 in Florence, Alabama to the late Almon Benny and Elizabeth Millinea White. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Norma Crowson.
Gary retired from the U.S. Army in 1988 and was ordained in 1987 as a Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) elder. His greatest joy in his latter years was studying and teaching God’s word and mentoring young men. For recreation he enjoyed fishing, golfing and skeet shooting.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jan White; children, Terry Johnson (Shannon) of Alabaster, AL, Cathy Richardson (Rob) of Alabaster, AL, Leigh Smoak (Brian) of Athens, AL, Mary Ellen White of Charleston, SC, Caroline Daniels (Stephen) of Alabaster, AL and Clay White (Young Hee) of Monument, CO; sisters, Nana Kay White and Janie Phillips (Robert) both of Florence, AL; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
