Overa E. Graves

Overa E. Graves, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was 91. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Level Plains First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church Friday beginning at 2:00 and continuing until service time. Overa was born July 2, 1927, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. She loved cooking and sewing for her friends and family, and she was very active in the Community of Level Plains. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Graves; parents, John H. and Lillie M. Kennedy Brakefield; son, Jerry Rakestraw; and three sisters. Survivors include her son, Ronnie Rakestraw (Kathy) of Enterprise, AL; daughter-in-law, Carol Rakestraw of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren: Curt Rakestraw (Anne), Ken Rakestraw (Sarah), Jeff Rakestraw (Tiffany), Kalyn Hudson (Bradley); and other extended family. The family thanks Southern Care Hospice for their loving, compassionate care.
