Ollie Jo Yarbrough

Mrs. Ollie Jo Yarbrough passed away December 8, 2022 at the age of 92.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Reverend Jon Thoennes and Reverend Slade Stinson officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. continuing until the time of service.  Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Feagin and Sallie Mae Bowden; her beloved husband of 70 years, the late James A. Yarbrough; son-in-law, John Duhaime; brothers, Richard Bowden (Catherine) and Maylon Bowden; and brother-in-law, Cliff Brunson.  Ollie Jo was a light of joy to everyone she met.  She met no strangers, and she saw beauty in everything.  She loved church steeples, tall trees, and often wondered if farmers knew how many cows they had in the pastures she passed on her many road trips.  Mrs. Yarbrough enjoyed telling jokes, and she had the funniest old sayings that delighted all the staff at the assisted living where she spent her last years.  She loved her friends and family and most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Duhaime and Pamela Jo Miller (Rick); five grandchildren, Eric Duhaime (Erica), Emily Jo Hammack (Chris), Ivy Jo Thoennes (Jon), James Lindsey (Courtney), and Frank Lindsey; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Brunson and Mary Lunsford (Collis); sister-in-law, Janice Bowden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for all the staff at Oak Landing Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for their sincere, loving care of our dear mother.
