Michael “Dustin” Khan, age 38, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on June 27, 2026.

Born on November 12, 1987, in Dothan, Alabama, Dustin lived a life defined by service, loyalty, and an unwavering love for his family. He proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 2006 until 2014 as a Motor Transport Marine. His years in uniform reflected the values he carried throughout his life—commitment, resilience, and a willingness to put others before himself.

Following his military service, Dustin continued serving his community through a career in law enforcement. Whether wearing the uniform of a Marine or a corrections officer, he believed in protecting others and making a difference through quiet acts of dedication.

A 2006 graduate of Carroll High School, Dustin enjoyed playing football and soccer, was known as an outstanding cook, and never missed an opportunity to gather with those he loved. While he had many interests and accomplishments, nothing brought him greater pride or greater joy than being a father. His three children were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Those who knew Dustin knew that his greatest title was not Marine or corrections officer—it was Dad.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hassan Khan, and his grandparents.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Braeden Michael Khan of Enterprise, Alabama; Grayson Matthew James Khan of Enterprise, Alabama; and Harper Sloane Khan of Eufaula, Alabama.

He is also survived by his mother, Tamatha Looney; his stepmother, Almas Khan; his brothers, Keith Beck of Bloomington, Illinois, Jamil Khan (Zoe Pippin) of Enterprise, Alabama, Adam Khan (Katie Khan) of Coffee Springs, Alabama, and Abraham Khan of Ozark, Alabama; along with numerous extended family members, friends, fellow Marines, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by his friendship and service.

A funeral service to celebrate Dustin’s life will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise, with Larry Mock officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery on Monday July 6, 2026 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Enterprise Lions Club Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 310598 Enterprise Alabama 36331-0598, a cause that was meaningful to Dustin and his family.

Though his time on earth was far too brief, Dustin leaves behind a legacy of honor, sacrifice, and unconditional love. He faithfully served his nation, faithfully served his community, and most importantly, faithfully loved his children. His memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
