Mrs. Mavis Bradley entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2024, after being blessed with 91 years on this earth. She was married to her loving husband, Reverend Hollis Bradley, for 70 years.
A service honoring the life of Mrs. Mavis Bradley will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetary with Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Mavis was a committed follower of Jesus Christ. She was devoted to her husband, their family and faithfully served in many capacities such as women’s ministries, teaching children and singing in the church choirs. From the very beginning, she and her husband dedicated their children to God and encouraged them to live their life in faith.
Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis; daughter, Valinda Layton; parents, Buster and Pennie Purvis; and sisters, Pearline Aycock and Annie Mae Purvis.
She is survived by son, Tony Bradley (Darlene); son-in-law, Ray Layton; grandchildren, Cynthia Stricklin (Paul), Chad Layton (Melissa), Eric Bradley (Shiann), Adrienne Hall (Justin); eight great-grandchildren, two sisters and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Psalms 34:17 “The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth and delivereth them out of all their troubles”. As Mavis so eloquently said, “We can’t have a testimony without a test”.
