Mary Carr Lidell

Mary Carr Liddell, a longtime resident of Dothan, passed away on September 17, 2022. She was 79 years young.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in the sanctuary of the Headland United Methodist Church, with Reverend Misty Barrett officiating. Following the service, there will be a gathering for family and friends in the church's Family Life Center.

Ms. Liddell was born in Dothan on December 27, 1942, to Paul Freeman Carr, Sr., and Mary Emma Solomon Carr. She attended Dothan High School and later graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Elementary Education. After college, she realized that teaching wasn't her calling, so she followed her passion and spent many years running her own antique and thrift stores. She loved people and animals of all kinds, took pride in her legendary yard sales, and dreamed of traveling the world. She will be missed for her contagious smile, her unique sense of humor, and her fondness for some good-natured mischief.

Ms. Liddell was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Paul Carr, Jr.; and three sisters, Jeannie Emma Carr, Carol Carr Smothers, and Becky Carr Simmons. She is survived by a son, Will Lithgow Liddell, III; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Liddell; a brother, Steve Carr; and several nieces and nephews.
