Mary Charlene (Belmore) Hodges

Mary Hodges, a beloved homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Alabama.

She was born on July 31, 1959, in Michigan.

Mary’s life will be celebrated at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel at 6 PM on July 15, 2024, with Pastor John McCrummen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Mary dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family, with a special place in her heart for kids that were not even all her biological children. She was deeply involved in foster care and mentoring for many years, touching the lives of those around her with her generosity and kindness. Mary's house was always filled with love, and she had a passion for cooking that brought joy to all who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Hodges, and their children: Rebecca Ward (Jamison), Jolyne Abbott, Jerilyn Aten (Kyle), Joann Stoesser (Dominic), Seven Norris (Aaron), Gerald Hodges, and Lenoris Hodges. Mary also leaves behind several siblings and a large extended family. Mary's legacy lives on through her 14 cherished grandchildren: Bowen, Kora, James, Ella, Nicole, Ryan, Christopher, Harper, Michael, Eleanor, Amelia, Annabelle, Dominic, and Nora.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alpha-1 Foundation 3300 Ponce de Leon, Coral Gables, FL 33134 in Mary's honor.
