Ms. Martha Gale Wise formerly Brown, of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at her residence with her daughter by her side. She was 69.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 24, 2026 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Joe Ward and Reverend Scotty Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm and continuing until service time.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in her honor to Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Coffee Springs, P.O. Box 885 Samson, Alabama 36477.
Gale was born December 8, 1956 in Alabama to Earl G and Merline McLean Wise. Her father Reverend Earl Gene Wise, and an infant sister, Marjorie Jean Wise, preceded her in death.
Gale was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Coffee Springs, Alabama. She had a servant heart and a passion to help others. She enjoyed being outdoors whether it be carefully attending to her family farm or working in her personal flowerbeds. Gale learned most of her valuable life skills from her father. These skills were then passed to her daughter and grandchildren, usually accompanied by her famous phrase “This is the way my Daddy taught me to do this”. Through her everyday life you could see Gale utilizing the valuable generational skills and traditions instilled in her.
Survivors include her mother, Merline McLean Wise; one daughter, Samantha Gale Brown Roy; two grandchildren: Hunter Brown Roy (Madison) whom she affectionately named “The Boy”; Lillie Gale Roy, who carries on the third generation of the “Gale” namesake; all of Coffee Springs, Alabama; sisters, Faye, Jeanie, Donna; father of her daughter, Cecil Junior Brown; cherished friends, Lydia Shirah Mott, Sissy Byrd Moeglin; her forever friends CSHS class of 1975.
Pallbearers include: Hunter Roy, Junior Brown, Brent Graves, Wayne Massey, Wayne Sheffield, Ronnie Hogan.
