Markus Hammerich

Markus Hammerich, a resident of Troy, Alabama, passed away on October 5, 2026. He was 57.

Born on January 31, 1969, in Schönberg, Germany, Markus was the son of Gisela and Peter Hammerich. He worked at Jackson Hardware in Brundidge for more than a decade, where his caring nature was evident in the way he looked after others.

Markus was a true caregiver, always giving a piece of his heart to those he cared for. As his family lovingly remembers, he gave so much of himself to others that, sadly, he gave too much away. Markus has now gone to meet his Heavenly Father.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Gisela and Brian Mc Daniels of Troy, Alabama, and his father, Peter Hammerich of Downers Grove, Illinois.

At Markus’s request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may make a donation in his name to the Pike Animal Shelter. Donations may be mailed to:
