Marilyn Roth

Marilyn Ann Roth, 90 years old of Enterprise, Alabama, and lifelong resident of Antioch, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born May 2, 1934, to the late Albert and Margaret (Gilsoul) Belongia in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. On May 10, 1952, Marilyn was united in marriage with her husband, Alfred in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2008. Marilyn was strong in her Catholic faith and dedicated her life to serving the church and those around her. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the senior center and participating in activities there. Family was the most important in her life, and she made sure to spend all her time with children and grandchildren. Marilyn enjoyed knitting and crocheting, baking goods, and spending time with her beloved cat, Dominique.

Survivors include her children, Mark Roth, Dane Roth, Mozell (Brad) Fortney, Forrest (Renee) Roth, Michelle Urbis, Alfred C. Roth Jr., and Tina (David) Leist; daughter-in-law, Kathy Roth; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pam (Jack); and many nieces, family members, and friends. Along with her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sons, George and Paul Roth; and brothers, Kenneth, Albert, and John Belongia.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Sorrells Funeral Home with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lakes – St. Peter Catholic Church, 557 Lake St. Antioch, IL 60002. Interment to follow at 1:00PM in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery Union Grove, WI. Visitation will be held at 4:00PM until 8:00PM Monday, February 10, 2025 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. Antioch, IL 60002.
