Mrs. Maria Louisa Aggelis Manley of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at Madison Heights in Enterprise surrounded by her loving family. She was 86.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory in Enterprise with Presiding Bishop A.O.C. Dr. Jerry Ogles officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am and continuing until service time.
Maria was born September 15, 1939 in Pierce, Florida to the late Steve and Ollie Lee Hunter Aggelis. In addition to her parents, two brothers, James and Ted also preceded her in death. Maria excelled as a student, was of the Baptist faith, a patriotic conservative American, and a great Army wife. Known for her warm heart and incredible cooking, she found joy in gathering loved ones around her table and making everyone feel at home. Her kitchen was always filled with laughter, good food, and the kind of love only a grandmother can give. If you admired small children and baby kittens you were “OK” in her book. She was loved, admired, and respected by her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that contributions be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, J.W. Manley of Enterprise, Alabama; one son, Kevin Manley (Lyndsay) of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee; daughters, Diana Stephens (Arnold) of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, Susan Robinson (Dale) of Laguna Beach, Florida; grandchildren: Caitlyn Lundberg (Chris), Laren McDuffie (Grant), Amanda Simpson (Eddie), Anne-Marie Hudson (Hunter), Suzanne Welch (Britt), Kailey Collins (David), Laura Formica (Dale); great-grandchildren: Landon, Ryleigh, Dylan, Holton, Henley, Haisley, Abel, Westley, Emmylou, Sam, Eliza, and Matt.
The family would like to say a special thank you to SouthernCare Hospice, Madison Heights Assisted Living Facility, Betty Bethea, Dorothy Brooks, and Christine Miller for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Manley.
