Margaret Ann Cardwell, born on May 27, 1943, in Coffee County, Alabama, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025 at her home. A beloved member of her community and a cherished friend to many, Margaret's life was a testament to her faith, family, and love for nature.
Margaret was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she found strength and joy in her faith. She was an enthusiastic participant in Bible study, which played a significant role in her life. Margaret's passion extended beyond the church; she adored spending time with friends over lunch, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories.
Her garden was her sanctuary, where she found solace and joy. Margaret took great pride in nurturing her plants and shared this love with her niece and nephew, teaching them the joys of gardening. Her great nieces and nephews, who brought immense joy to her life, were like grandchildren to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margie Outlaw and Retha Martin. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Julie Black (Andrew), Jason Martin (Joni), Tracey Outlaw (Kathi), and Shannon Simmons (Skipper). She is also survived by her brother, Paul Cardwell (Charlene), and her brothers-in-law, Billy Outlaw and Jack Martin.
Margaret’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her great nephews Kaidon and Micah Black, who were planting flowers for her to see when she got home, as well as her other nieces and nephews Sam Strickland, Mark Coker (Flame), Karrah Turner, Shyan Lovern (Clayson), Aiden Outlaw and Makenna Outlaw, who will forever remember her love and guidance.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2 PM in the sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Reverend Kerry Mitchell will officiate the service, with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.
