Marcia Tomberlin Shafer

Marcia Shafer passed away Friday, January 7, 2026. She was 79 years old.

Memorialization was by cremation with no services held.

Marcia was born in Troy, Alabama, January 27, 1946, to the late Eddie and Rebie Davis Tomberlin. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Weeks Stevens (Tony); son, Todd Holman Weeks (Karen); and three grandchildren, Alex Stevens, Andrew Stevens, and Anna Catherine Weeks.

Marcia was a long-time resident of Enterprise and graduated from Enterprise High School. As a young lady she loved making trips to the beach at Spring Break and in the summer with her high school girlfriends. After Friday night football games, she could be found on the dance floor at the local sockhops.

Marcia’s father owned the only drive-in theater in town, M & O Drive-In, so she was always loading a bunch of friends in her car to watch movies at her dad's drive-in. As an only child, she was adored by her parents and her many friends. Even as the years went by and her health declined, she still got together at the beach and had lunch in Enterprise with her high school buds. Having to use rollator walker never stopped her; she kept going!

As her health declined her closest friends who loved her dearly were by her side helping her every way they could. They worked tirelessly to make her life comfortable, and her children could not be more grateful. They are true angels and stepped in when her children could not.

Marcia volunteered with many organizations, including Hospice, Enterprise Historical Society, SOS Animal Shelter, and many more. She loved animals and wanted the city of Enterprise to open a no kill shelter for animals. That is why SOS Animal Shelter was very important to her.

Marcia would be honored if donations in her memory were made to SOS Animal Shelter in Enterprise, Alabama, a donation of items the shelter needs, monetary, or volunteering your time. For more information visit www.sosshelter.com.
