Mamie Lois Brown

Mrs. Mamie Lois Brown of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away May 16, 2025, at the Graceville Health Center. She was 96.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory with Reverend Jamie Payton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 pm until service time. A private interment for immediate family will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Dothan with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing where she will be buried beside her husband, Herman.

Mamie was born April 12, 1929, in Butler County, Alabama to the late G.B. and Alma Alice Dent Gorum. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, the love of her life, Herman Brown; six brothers; and one sister.

Mrs. Brown first and foremost loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she would share her faith with everyone she met. Her colorful personality matched her love for colorful jewelry and flowers. She could often be found digging in the dirt planting flowers or baking her famous homemade biscuits or pound cake. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, as she touched so many lives during her time here on earth.

Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Anderson (Bob) of Enterprise and Elaine Helms (Jackie) of Cadiz, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Kelli Helms, Lance Helms, and Bobby Anderson (Jennifer); and four great-grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth Wagoner, Wyatt Wagoner, Addison Anderson, and Cole Anderson.
