Lula Belle Hussey Starrett

Lula Belle Hussey Starrett passed away October 26, 2024, at Gadsden Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 87 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise with Reverend David Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 10:30 am and continuing until service time.

Lu was born on November 3, 1936 in Coffee County, Alabama, to the late J.D and Ollie Nell Kilpatrick Morris. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Houston Hussey and Reginald Starrett; brothers, Jerry Owens, J.L. Morris, and Roger Morris; sisters, Erma German, Mildred Gulledge, Marie McDaniel, Pat Osburn, and Sarah Nell Morris; son-in-law, Rhett Solomon; and great-granddaughter, Avalynn James.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Hussey Solomon of Panama City Beach and Mike Hussey of Enterprise; grandchildren, Jared Hussey (Tonyia), Sheena Landers (Brandon), Sierra Mcleod (Billy), Kristen Mahan (Devin), Eric Solomon (Jessica), and Chris Solomon (Felecia); sisters, Doris Dixon (Bob) and Nell Smith (Gary); brother, Jimmy Morris (Linda); and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
