Lucy Mildred Mcdonald

Mrs. Lucy Mildred McDonald passed away February 15, 2025. She was 87.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 24, 2025 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service beginning at 9:00 am and continuing until service time.

Lucy was born November 20, 1937 in Alabama to the late Edgar and Mildred Helms Brown. She provided a loving home for her family. Lucy had a talent for immaculate hand writing which was shown through her love of writing cards and letters. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Petry, and her husband, Robert McDonald.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Byrd (Lisa) and Jeffrey Petry (Sandra); sister, Modrey Strength (Grady); grandchildren: Sarah Herrera, Adam Petry, Regina, Richard, Jason Throop, and Jason Petry; great-grandchildren: Jason and Eleanor Throop, Trent and Gabby Petry, Katherine, Lucas, and Kourtney Throop, and Olivia and Norah Herrera.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama, 3902 County Road 610,  Enterprise, Alabama 36330 or the Christian Mission Centers, 231 Geneva Highway, Enterprise, Alabama.
