Linda Mae Brunson

Linda Mae Brunson, of Chancellor, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at her residence surrounded by family. She was 73.

Funeral services with cremation to follow will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 21, 2022 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Keith Martin officiating. Visitation by the friends and family will begin at 2:00 pm.

Linda was a loving and caring, family-oriented lady who loved life to the fullest. Her wonderful sense of humor and quick wit enlivened any gathering of friends. One of her joys in life was cooking meals for her family and friends. In the true southern tradition, when you went to her house, she would insist you to stay for food and fellowship.  She obtained her Master’s degree and worked for many years as a budget analyst for civil service. She married her husband of 19 years Wayne Brunson, who was the love of her life, renewing a friendship and love that began when they attended Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama together.

Linda was born September 16, 1949 in Daleville, Alabama to the late Johnny Rufus and Evelyn Nevels Summers. In addition to her parents, two brothers, Benny Allen Summers and Bruce Earl Summers preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Wayne Brunson, of Geneva County; two step daughters, Shawna Catherine Moore, Rossford, Ohio, Sonya Caroline Perry, Hinesville, Georgia; three sisters: Sarah Elizabeth Bedsole of Orange Park, Florida, Julie Ann Allen (Steve) of Five Points, Alabama; Barbara Ellen Roling of Deatsville, Alabama; two brothers: William Edward Summers Sr. (Beverly) of Parrotsville, Tennessee, Buddy Summers Wilson of Brunswick, Georgia; grandchildren: Kaden Oliver, Chloe Crabb, Toby Crabb, and Alora Heath, and many nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcomed or friends may make a donation to their church or favorite charity in Linda’s name.
