Julio M. Roman

Julio M. Roman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 4, 1941, in Puerto Rico to the late Manuel and Hilda Roman, Julio’s spirit was as vibrant as the fireworks that celebrated his birth.

Julio dedicated much of his life to serving others, working as a superintendent for the public library in New York. His commitment to hard work and passion for knowledge instilled in his children a profound work ethic and a love for Marvel comics, which became a cherished bond among them. Julio’s unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him and his family through both joyful and challenging times.

After his retirement, Julio moved to Florida with his family, where he embraced the sunny lifestyle and continued to cultivate his interests. He was an avid traveler, frequently journeying to church events and retreats. His love for biking with his children, restoring vintage furniture, and enjoying action movies and classic Westerns added joy to his life. The gym and church services were essential parts of his routine, reflecting his dedication to both physical and spiritual well-being.

Julio was an adoring grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years Audelis Roman and his children, Marilyn Matias, Raul Rivera (Pricilla), Julio Roman Jr.(Lynette), Linda Cotte (Samuel), Margaret Gorham (Joel), Abigail McClain (Derek), Keefe Roman (Laci), Kenton Roman (Stephanie), and Jor-El Roman who considered him their superhero, his grandchildren, Jared, Kaylee, Gabriel, Valerie, Alexandrea, Erica, Luck, Adam, Tatum, Keefe, Jorian, Eliseo, Alasia, Kenton Jr., Kal-El, and Anello His great grandchildren Max, Mia, Gabriel Jr., Frankie, Gabrielle, and Nico who will carry forward his legacy of love, faith, and adventure.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a beloved daughter and a sister. Julio’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at 11AM on May 31, 2025 at the Caverns Road Church of Christ, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man he was. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Caverns Road Church of Christ at P.O. Box 144 Marianna, FL 32447, reflecting Julio’s commitment to helping others.

Rest in peace, Julio. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
