Joseph Ramsey Stowers

Mr. Joseph Ramsey Stowers, of Chancellor, Alabama; formerly of Greenville, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his residence.  He was 84.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Joseph was born July 25, 1935 in Prattville, Alabama to the late John Raymond and Kathleen Thompson Stowers.  He was chief of the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department for many years.  He also retired after 30 years of service in the National Guard.  Joseph was an active member in his community and loved being a public servant.  In addition to his parents, one brother and his wife, Myrtle Stowers preceded him in death.

He is survived by three daughters:  Victoria Stowers, Chancellor, Alabama; Jacqueline Watson (Craig), Chancellor, Alabama; Emily Smith (Amanda Harrell), Florida; one grandchild, Manning Smith (Jane); one great-great grandchild, Maisy Smith.
