John "Leon" Pittman

Mr. John “Leon” Pittman of New Brockton, Alabama passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 86.

Memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Reverend Mike Medley officiating. Graveside service with military honors will follow in Bethany Baptist Church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2:00 pm and continuing until service time.

Leon was born February 5, 1939 to the late Walker Lee and Cleone Stephens Pittman. In addition to his parents, his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Smith Pittman; son, John Pittman; brother, Doug Pittman; sister and brother-in-law Dennie Pittman Walden (Kenneth); niece, Wendy Walden Averett all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children: Suzy Luchner (Tom) of New Brockton, Alabama, Jamie Pittman (Rika) of Hoover, Alabama; sister-in-law, Julianna Pittman of Enterprise, Alabama; three grandchildren: Victoria Rommel (Michael) of Ft. Walton Beach, Zachary Pittman (Jessie) of Huntsville, Alabama, Emma Pittman of Hoover, Alabama; two great-grandchildren: John Robert Rommel, Palmer Ann Rommel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
