John A. Missildine

Mr. John A. Missildine, age 48, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Sasebo, Japan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Shiloh Word Fellowship Church with Reverend Buddy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Alabama, with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

John was born on September 17, 1976, in Korea to Thomas and Song O. Missildine. A 1994 graduate of Daleville High School, he played football for the Warhawks before going on to play at the University of North Alabama. He later attended Troy University, where his energy, charm, and school spirit led him to join the cheerleading squad, a role that perfectly suited his outgoing personality.

John loved life and people. He had an easygoing nature, a welcoming smile, and a gift for making others feel at ease. He was a devoted fan of both Trojan and Crimson Tide football. For many years, John served as the commissary manager in Sasebo, Japan, where his leadership and warmth were appreciated by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Song O. Missildine; grandparents, Joe and Edna Missildine, and Chang Ki Chong and Kim Myoung Suk.

John is survived by his father, Thomas Missildine (Audrea) of Banks, AL; his twin brother, Joe K. Missildine (Yun Kyung) of Korea; his sister, Linda Letson (Patrick) of Wisconsin; and his step-brother, Terry Garrett (Rachel) of Banks, AL. He also leaves behind five nephews: Camden, Casen, Parker, Nick, and Cody; along with many extended family members and friends around the world who will cherish his memory.
