Joe Thames

Mr. Joe Thames passed away April 18, 2025, at his residence in Panama City Beach, Florida. He was 48.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory with Reverend Joel Snell officiating. Burial will follow at Goodman Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm and continuing until service time.

Joe was born July 18, 1976, in Geneva, Alabama, to the late Johnny Frank Thames and Mavis Lucille Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Stephanie Thames, and brother, Billy Joe Meyers.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Hoskins; step-children, Samuel Gillespie and Jacqueline Gillespie of Panama City Beach, and Britt Gillespie of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Martie Meyers (Paula), Bobby Joe Meyers, John Earl Meyers, and Marcus W. Meyers; niece, Hillary Smith (Brandon); nephew, Jason Sasser; and brother-in-law, Lamar Sasser.
