Jesse Leo Moore

Jesse Leo Moore, 95, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He led a life marked by curiosity and compassion.

Jesse was born to Jack and Rubie Moore on December 17, 1929, in the community of Tennille, Alabama. He would go on to attend Howard College in Birmingham and eventually move to Enterprise. There he enjoyed a quiet life and the companionship of family. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when working in his yard.

Known throughout the community for his pecan pies and fig preserves, Jesse was always finding ways to give to others. He would lend a helping hand to family, neighbors, and strangers alike and will be remembered for his kind heart, vibrant and joking spirit, and boundless generosity.

Jesse is survived by his children Judy Culverhouse (Barclay), Lann Moore (Vair), and Mike Dickenson (Donna); grandchildren Clay Church (Michelle), Courtney Dell (Hal), and Michael Paul Dickenson; and great grandchildren, Corey Church, EvaClaire Church, Caroline Dell, and Henry Dell. He leaves behind three brothers, Tommy Moore (Betty), Fernie Moore (Lynn), and Billy Moore (Shelbie); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents Joseph “Jack” Arthur and Rubie Moore; his siblings Ice Pearl Tidwell, Shellie D. Moore, Melvin Moore, and Jack Moore Jr.; and his son Bobby Moore.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 11AM, at Meadowlawn Memorial Park in Enterprise, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
