Jeanette Hammock DeSchepper

Mrs. Jeanette Hammock DeSchepper, age 81, passed away at her home on February 14, 2026.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery on Highway 87 in Elba with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.

Jeanette was born April 12, 1944, in Chipley, Florida, to Otis and Katherine Hammock. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James L. DeSchepper; special brother-in-law, Kenneth Cook; brother, and Don Hammock. She was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ.

Jeanette is survived by her son, Michael Mell DeSchepper; brothers, Gerald Hammock and Joseph Varnum; sister Rea Cook; four grandchildren, Anna Chowdhury (Ray), Rachel Watson (Johnathon), Lee Jenkins, and Johnathan DeSchepper; and two great-grandchildren, Liam Watson and Natalie Jenkins.
