Irmgard Lawson

Mrs. Irmgard Lawson of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at her residence. She was 94.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory beginning at 10:00 AM.

Irmgard was born March 28, 1931, in Germany to the late Karl and Marie Östereich Preusser. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Werner Müller; her second husband, Joseph R. Lawson; siblings, Hilde Kugle, Emmi Heng, Margarete Alessie, and Richard Preusser; and granddaughter, LaPonda Murphy. Irmgard was a loving person who treasured her family more than anything. She enjoyed traveling, watching western movies, and listening to German music. She was always willing to help anyone in need.

Survivors include her children, Hardi Müller (Melanie) of Kentucky, Doris Burton (Major) of Enterprise, and Gisela Jennings of California; eight grandchildren, Manuela Swasey (Jarrod), Marvin Nanz, Theresa Burton (James Adams), Felicia Cole (Thomas), Jessica Burton, Patrick Burton, Antje Schafer, and Ginger Jennings; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
