Harold “Tony” Toniazzo, age 77, passed away peacefully at Enterprise Health & Rehabilitation Center after a lifetime of service to his country and a life well lived.
Tony was born on October 28, 1948, in Blue Island, Illinois to the late Harold G. and Joyce Toniazzo. From an early age, he possessed a strong sense of patriotism, adventure, and determination that would define much of his life.
Tony proudly served his country first in the United States Marine Corps for three years before transferring to the United States Army so he could pursue his love of flying. He went on to serve the remainder of his military career as an Army Aviator, a role he deeply loved and took great pride in.
Outside of military service, Tony enjoyed shooting sports and was a passionate supporter of the Second Amendment. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and also a proud member of Tri-State Gun Club. Those who knew Tony appreciated his independent spirit, loyalty to friends, and deep love for his cat, Cleo, who was a constant companion.
Tony is survived by longtime friend Gail Hubble (Harv Hubble who peceded Tony in death) who became family and his beloved cat, Cleo.
A military graveside service with honors will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Friday, May 29, 2026 with Pastor Leon Adams officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SOS Animal Rescue 25944 AL-134 Enterprise, AL 36330 in Tony’s honor.
Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise, (334) 347-9598, is in charge of arrangements.
