Grethel Lillian Mcbirney

Mrs. Grethel Lillian McBirney, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at the age of 85.

Memorialization will be by cremation with a service to be held next spring in West Virginia.

Mrs. McBirney was born April 25, 1937 in West Virginia.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Dempsey Hebbs; her daughter, Maxine; and her son, Preston.

She is survived by her husband, Jon McBirney; sons, Paul Donahue (Lisa) of Fort Myers, Florida and Jeff Donahue; siblings, Ann Trier of Akron, Ohio, Charlotte Brooks of East Bank, West Virginia, and Lonnie Dempsey of Creaksville, West Virginia; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, including her very close great-granddaughter, Dixie, who helped take care of her every day.
