Gloria J. Gossen

Gloria J. Gossen passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus Tuesday afternoon, February 19, 2019. She was a longtime resident of Enterprise. She was 88. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Rev. Jim Duhaime officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Elba with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. Gloria was born September 6, 1930, in Opp, Alabama. She was Executive Secretary at Sessions Oil Company for 20 years and later became the Senior Citizens Director for the City of Enterprise. She greatly enjoyed travel and meeting new people. She planned trips for the Seniors Group to Branson, MO and a cruise out of Mobile, AL. She received her Certificate of Retirement from Mayor Kenneth Boswell after serving the city from 1990 to 2004. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otha Otis Jones and Teety Bell Taylor Jones; two daughters, Rona Olmstead and Myra Bradberry; sister, Joyce Waldrop; two brothers, Elwyn Jones and Jerry T. Jones. Survivors include son, Jeff Gossen (Rochelle) of Enterprise; daughter, Joy Lynn Kaczmarczyk of Dothan; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. The family thanks the staff of Elba Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving, compassionate care of GG during the past seven years.
