Gloria Jean Farris Booker

Gloria Jean Whitman Farris Booker, 84, passed peacefully into eternal life on January 24, 2026, in Enterprise, Alabama.

Gloria was born December 1, 1941, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Byron Harding and Helen Virginia Shealy Whitman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years and the father of her children, James W. Farris; two sons, Michael and Jeffrey Farris; her husband of more than 20 years, Larry W. Booker; and two brothers, Byron and Ralph Whitman.

Gloria is survived by her son, Tracey (Jo Ann) Farris; stepdaughter, Karen (Sidney) Smith; stepson, Joey Booker and his wife, Sally, her special friend; grandsons, Tyler (Ashley) Farris, David (Heather) Farris, and Bradley (Breanna) Booker; granddaughters, Emily Farris and Breanna (Anthony) Abshire; sisters, Sharon (Joe)Thorne, Beverly Nicholas, and Donna Dodd; as well as several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria loved life and her family. She worked hard all of her life before settling down with husband, Larry Booker, in Marianna, Florida. They enjoyed fishing, fish fries, bingo, and penny slot machines together. She looked forward to a glorious reunion with him and her loved ones. She will be deeply missed, but we are grateful The Lord has taken her home.

Per her wishes, a simple graveside service is planned for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Ozark, Alabama, where she will rest in eternity beside her husband, James Farris.
