Geraldine (Mooney) Jerkins

Geraldine Jerkins of Dothan passed away on Monday, November 08, 2021. She was 70.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Bellwood Cemetery in Chancellor with Sorrells Funeral Home directing

Geraldine was born November 12, 1950 in Geneva County, Alabama, to the late William and Ouida Mooney.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Jerkins; son, Jamie Jerkins; sister, Doris Mooney; and brother, Roger Mooney.

She was known as mom, nanny, Aunt Dean, Jerri and friend.  She never judged and was always ready with a hug.  Big or small her love knew no limit.  She filled our lives with her love.  She will be forever remembered for her strong dislike of country music and her love for Nintendo.  While we miss you big, we rejoice in your peace at last.

Survivors include her daughters, Lesa Jerkins of Pinckard, AL and Phyllis Moore (Travis) of Bellwood, AL; brother, Billy Mooney (Faye) of Newton, AL; sisters, Alma Wood (Calvin) of Prattville, AL and Phyllis Revels (Mickey) of Daleville, AL; grandchildren, Kristy Rowe (Mike), Alex Moore, Amy Moore and Tasha Jerkins; and great-grandchildren, Braxton, Jaxson, Ryland, Easton, Luke and Violet.
